Hospice Volunteer Orientation and Training

Evening training begins March 19th 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Training is designed to educate participants about hospice and provide the information needed to become a hospice volunteer.
Our volunteers make a personal, one-on-one difference by reading to patients, listening to their stories, providing friendship, companionship and comfort to those on hospice care. Please call Penny Morehead to learn more about this special program.

Join our team of special volunteers; a small commitment reaps great rewards. Visiting Nurse Association Hospice in Yucca Valley is looking for caring, compassionate people with two or three hours a week to visit with hospice patients, either in their homes or in one of our local care facilities. A small commitment reaps great rewards; personal growth, satisfaction, and new friends. Discover how you can make a difference by providing comfort and practical assistance to patients and their families during the last stages of a terminal illness. Description: The Ready, Aim, Fire Coalition was formed in July of 2009. The coalition works to reduce youth access to alcohol and drugs in our community. The coalition monitors our local problems related to youth access to drugs and alcohol and addresses these issues through policy legislation. We look to the community to help find solutions to these issues.

Friday afternoon, these will be given to children who come from homes that are economically impoverished
thus the food given, bridges food assistance programs during the school week (Breakfast, Lunch, after school programs)
to assure that all children are being fed on the weekend.

MBCAC Call For Volunteers*

The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council needs volunteers to help in all areas of the organization. The new office building, located behind A Roadside Attraction, has been set up and we need volunteers to help in the office once a month. The new space is the headquarters for preparing all MBCAC activities and requires the help of volunteers for maintaining office hours at least one day a week. We are seeking volunteers to help in many areas, from grants and programs to stuffing envelopes and will be contacting volunteers in the new year.
