JIM BOYLE
BOYLE, JIM - Chairman of the Board, Emeritus
Jim served a number of years as Vice President and Employee Benefits
Consultant for the Security Pacific National Bank. During his tenure with
the firm, he made frequent trips to Yucca Valley and became a full time
resident here upon his retirement from the firm in 1990. He served on the
Yucca Valley Town Community Services Commission for four years - three of
which he functioned as its Chairman. He served two terms on the San
Bernardino County Grand Jury where he and was twice appointed Chairman of
the Law & Justice committee and once chair of the Editorial Committee.
He was key in founding the Basin Wide Foundation in 1996 and served as its
President until December 2001.He takes particular pride in helping found
the California Welcome Center and Brehm Youth Sports Park. Jim also create
the Morongo Basin Tennis Club in 1993 and is one of its prominent past
presidents.

BOB BURKE
BURKE, BOB - Blue Ribbon Director
Blue Ribbon Advisor Bob's career background was in sales and marketing for
the Encyclopedia Britannica. He moved to Yucca Valley in 1982 when he took
the position of Field Representative for San Bernardino County's First
District Supervisor - a position he held for 6 years. In 1990, Bob
initiated, organized and chaired the Morongo Basin Leadership Prayer
Breakfast for 10 years. Following the 1992 Landers earthquake, he served
as Director of the Morongo Basin Church Affiliated Recovery Effort (CARE)
and served as Administrator of the Morongo Basin Adult Health Services for
5 years. Bob's humanitarian endeavors have resulted in numerous awards
from civic and volunteer organizations throughout the Morongo Basin,
including the Yucca Valley Chamber's "1998 Citizen of the Year"
and Soroptimist International's "2001 Men Helping Women" award.
Bob has been a BWF member since 1996.

BOB DOCKENDORFF
DOCKENDORFF, BOB - Blue Ribbon Director
Bob was a General Electric Company employee from 1956 to 1979 and a New
Jersey business owner and CEO from 1979 to 1992. In the mid 90's he served
with the local branch of the American Cancer Society as its VP of
Marketing and Communications. A past president of the Homestead Valley
Community Council, he serves as its Liaison Officer to various government
and civic agencies. He was the architect of the HUD funded Morongo Basin
Shack Attack program and served the duration of the program as its
Administrative Policy Director. In 2000, he was the recipient of a San
Bernardino County Board of Supervisor's Resolution proclaiming his work
with the program. He is a member of the Computer Graphics Pioneers and has
had his biography included in Marqui's Who's Who in America since 2000. He
is the current site manager for the California Welcome Center in Yucca
Valley and has been a Basin Wide Foundation member since early 2001.

BART PEDERSEN
PEDERSEN, BART, O.D. - Blue Ribbon Director
A practicing optometrist in the Town of Yucca Valley since 1967, Bart is
also a founding member of the Yucca Valley Foundation - BWF's predecessor
organization. His participation in community activities includes
membership in the Morongo Basin Economic Partnership and his position as a
Board Member of Friends of Copper Mountain College. He was instrumental in
the successful incorporation of the Town of Yucca Valley in the early
1990's. Bart served on the Board of Trustees for the Southern California
College of Optometry from 1995 through 1997 - as well as numerous other
offices within the profession. He is a member of the Yucca Valley Rotary
Club and was awarded the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce's "Boss of
the Year" in 1995. |
