California Welcome Center
In 2000 the Foundation obtained the California Welcome Center (CWC) designation by acquiring the facility, creating the design and filing the application for designation with the State of California. The award of California’s ninth Welcome Center designation was granted on January 11, 2001. The Foundation facilitated a CWC steering committee to help with on-going support and marketing of the CWC and the formation of Desert Regional Tourism Agency (DRTA).
Desert Woman Charities
In 2005 Desert Woman Charities was formed and became a sponsored fiscal affiliate of the Foundation. Desert Woman Charities was formed to help raise funds for dogs that are specially trained for special needs children with youth diabetes. Desert Woman Charities raised over $30,000.
Youth Sports Park
Located at 56620 Little League Drive in Yucca Valley, the Youth Sports Park is home to three lighted playing fields, two with grass; picnic areas; a Miracle League playing field for disabled children and adults; a roller derby flat track; a building with a meeting room and offices; and a playground. The Youth Sports Park is lined with trees and shelters that were donated by the Community, truly an example of Together We Can!
